For those that enjoy great heights while keeping their feet firmly planted on the ground, the experience of Parrot’s Minidrones are for you.
Having not flown a drone of any sort before, when the guys at Red Agency invited me along to the launch of Parrot’s two new drones, I had to check out these miniature flying machines.

Unveiled by a few of the local and international team of Parrot, the models ‘Swing’ and ‘Mambo’ where on display and ready to test fly for the audience. Both new generation robots each with unique capabilities are a pretty cool flying gadget experience.
The Parrot ‘Swing’ is the first plane Minidrone with vertical take-off, which switches from quadricopter mode to plane mode quickly for maximum acceleration. Its unique X shape design provides flying aptitude of both vertical and horizontal modes all at a top speed of 30km/h; quite quick for something that only weighs 73 grams.

Although my flying skills initially did extend to almost zooming into a couple of spectators, it was quite a fun experience and easily a piece of technology suitable for any age.
Till next time,
