The Brandy Alexander is one of those perfect velvety cocktails that is great after a meal or as a desert; consider it the adult milkshake A cream base beverage that hit its prime in the mid 20th century, gives its kick with brandy and scented with nutmeg.
RECIPE
Ingredients: Serves 4
185ml (3/4 cup) Brandy or Cognac.
185ml (3/4 cup) Dark creme de cacao.
185ml (3/4 cup) single cream.
1 cup crushed ice.
Whole nutmeg, freshly grated.
Method:
Pour Brandy (or Cognac), dark cream and thin cream into your cocktail shaker.
Crush one cup of ice and add to your shaker.
Shake vigorously and pour into glass.
Go for a coupe glass if you have one, followed by freshly grating a little of your whole nutmeg for garnish. Fresh nutmeg adds more flavour then that from a jar, but if all else fails jar bought will still do the trick.
