The recipe for the Tom Collins cocktail was noted as originally written by Jerry Thomas who was considered as one of the early pioneers in cocktail making history. As a bartender himself, he wrote the first book specifically for bartenders which included recipes for many of the drinks we now know today as cocktails.
The Tom Collins is a Gin based tipple and like many of the classic cocktails in yonder year, they are a simple list of ingredients yet require that perfect balance to make the mix hit that mark.
