With new season Autumn / Winter collections now hitting our stores, sartorial brand Calibre showcases a range fit for work to weekend. Dapper Lounge spotlights their suiting collection titled “Working 8 till late” and “Out of Office” with all the details you need to know about this stylishly sharp new range.
Keeping to their ever dapper quality of Italian yarns woven through their ties and pocket squares, the range embraces their autograph of tailoring, bold shirting choices perfectly fit to carry you from boardroom to bar, along with quality Italian made accessories.
“The collection showcases signature Calibre tailoring at its finest. Calibre’s Italian Stretch Wool Suiting, developed by Calibre in collaboration with one of Italy’s premier suiting mills, arrives in shades perfect for the winter months. Expect classic colours like deep navy and grey, but also a rich camel colour that will prove to become the colour of the season. The humble pinstripe has been updated in a bold blue hue and slim, modern fit, and the windowpane check suits will be sought after for the sartorial high-flyer.
Tailored looks are punctuated with bold footwear this season, with deep burgundy lace-ups and double monk straps, both Italian made, fast becoming office staples. Leather briefcases and messenger bags in chocolate and black are made for the modern businessman, and accessories like lapel pins and pocket squares continue to be an indispensable addition to any look. Ties are a touch wider and can be found in everything from stripes and paisley to bold geometrics. New ranges of Calibre cufflinks and tie bars, both designed in the UK, are featured in a range of metallic finishes, from rose gold to gunmetal.”
Gary Zecevic is the founder and sartorialist behind Calibre and the brands inception some 27 years ago. Launching Australia’s first men’s only boutique in 1989, the brand is considered as a pioneer in Australia’s men’s fashion landscape through a commitment and focus in specializing in menswear through its “signature well-tailored” garments.
Calibre now extends and expands its gentlemanly offerings with the introduction of Paulin watches. This boutique Scottish, Glasgow based brand appoints Calibre as its exclusive Australian stockist. Offering hand-stitched bridle leather straps with Japanese Miyota Quartz mechanics, every item is designed and pieced together by Paulin in-house.
Come the weekend, Calibre’s “Out of Office” has you covered with a collection featuring an “arsenal of pieces made for whatever the weekend brings. Masterfully tailored blazers and trousers are the building blocks to a Saturday night, with flashes of houndstooth and garnet giving the pieces a fashion-forward edge. Casual jackets, perfect for Sunday afternoon outings, have an unexpected but irresistible sharpness.”
“Out of Office brings luxury back to weekends. Mohair sweaters, Italian cotton shirting and moleskin jackets make keeping warm a statement. Collection highlights include a classic trench and biker jacket cut from super soft suede, giving a modern feel to wardrobe staples. Accessories are just as luxe this season, with leather sneakers hand-painted in Spain, to Doucals leather boots completely hand-made in Montegranaro, Italy. Western boots also make a comeback, with our Mezcalero for Calibre boots authentically made by hand in Mexico.”
This year’s winter campaign was shot in the New South Wales Southern Highlands and in Sydney’s CBD captured by Sydney born fashion and portrait photographer Nick Leary. Having travelled the globe for the last 10 years being behind the lens for fashion bibles like GQ, Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and snapping for brands including Giorgio Armani and Moet Hennesy, Leary can also include celebrities such as Cate Blanchett, Hugh Jackman and Miranda Kerr as part of his repertoire.
Get inspired for winter with these brilliantly captured picks of Calibre’s Autumn / Winter 2016 collection.
Stay dapper,
