Drambuie, long famed for its delicious Scotch Whiskey Liqueur, arrives in Brisbane for a 5-week long festive celebration starting June 2nd titled ‘A Night with the Nail’.
The bar scene across the world has seen a revival of all classic cocktails from yesteryear and Drambuie are bringing the Brisbane folk ‘A Night with the Nail’. This bar experience hails tribute to the revival of the cocktail ‘The Rusty Nail’, where guest will be treated to the sounds of jazz by Herb Armstrong as one of the treats of the evening.
Hosted at the very dapperly decked out venue of ‘The Walrus Club’ in Toowong just downstairs from the Regatta Hotel, each Friday night until June 30th, live jazz music will fill the room together with a recurring ‘Drambuie-themed’ evening all building to an exclusive Drambuie experience bringing to life the heritage of the jazz-influenced cocktail generation stretching back to the Rat Pack era.

Drambuie is a fine blend of Scotch whisky, heather honey, spices and herbs with a deep golden colour. The aroma is of aged malt whisky mixed with a floral and herbal overtone and rich honey. A timeless whiskey cocktail like The Rusty Nail was born in the early ’60s in the New York nightclub scene enjoyed by the likes of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, JFK 12, Marilyn Monroe and Hemmingway, making it an iconic tipple.
For anyone wanting to add ‘The Rusty Nail’ to their home bartending repertoire, the guys at Drambuie have given me the low down on how it goes:
RUSTY NAIL™
1 part Drambuie
2 parts Monkey Shoulder Scotch Whisky
Build over ice in a rocks glass and stir
Garnish with a lemon twist
Enjoy and stay dapper.
Robbie – Dapper Lounge.
