Last Thursday, 19th of October, I had the chance to head to the launch of 124 Shoes collaboration with Italian artisan and shoemaker, Preventi. The in-store event at The Galleries in Sydney’s CBD, was the international release of 10 limited edition made to measure artisan shoes.
Flying in from Italy, Mr Preventi presented the collection along side the 124 Shoes team showcasing both men’s and women’s pieces, that have been created by artisan shoemakers in Italy. Hand finished details like the real silver used on the women’s boot which is hand polished to create the perfect metallic graduation along the toecap, or the distressed throat line and vamp of the men’s brogues, Preventi uses only high-quality buffalo, bison and calf leathers.
Preventi – ‘made to order’ handcrafted shoes are hand dyed and delicately aged, with finer details being available for selection by the client. Together with 124 Shoes housing premium Italian and European artisan shoes perfect for those that appreciate quality and unique designs, the collaboration was well matched.
“124 Shoes provide a unique artisanal experience for shoe lovers, with a hand-selected collection of meticulously crafted footwear, leather goods, accessories and fragrances for men and women. Our philosophy is to offer quality original footwear in limited quantities, fitting between luxury brands and mass-market retailers.
Each collection is sourced, curated from Italy’s finest footwear manufacturing regions and is crafted by respected second and third generation makers, embracing artisan techniques. The finest materials and traditional techniques combine to give each shoe a unique signature.”
The new season range on display showed everything from suede sneakers, tan boots and perforated chukka’s; a shoe lovers heaven and one great evening! For more, you can head to 124shoes.com and wearepreventi.com
Stay dapper gents.
