In recent weeks just gone by, we’ve seen the biggest names in fashion showcase their latest Autumn Winter 2016 collection to the world. The staple colours of black, grey, navy and military greens stay put, while red, burgundy, orange and cyan took to some shows.
With Armani and Alexander McQueen donning mostly a monochrome colour palate, Gucci’s 70s retro vibe added a nostalgic vintage flair and flamboyancy to the runway through prints and jacquards.
Balmain’s heavy embroidered outerwear in navy, black and gold detailing, used luxe fabrics of velvet before neutral, silky, skin tones lightened the range.
Dior adopted black and various hues of red, while Pringle of Scotland swapped the red for orange adornment and (50) shades of grey in the form of knits layered under prince of whales check suiting, shearling-trimmed coats and detailing with the use of citrus orange.
Hermes and Paul Smith opted for more playful use of influence venturing past the winters traditionals and using highlights of cyan, salmon, jade and camel, while Louis Vuitton kept to a simplistic and distinctive tonal grid of classic greens, greys, charcoals and navy. A little rich chocolate tone highlighted some looks from Canali with an otherwise navy check dominant and sharply tailored range.
Military inspirations were prevalent and textures of velvet, fur and shearling trims adhered to coats. Simplified biker style leather jackets should also keep us warm. With these pics via GQ Australia, get inspired by some of the dapper looks and make them your own.
Till next time, stay dapper.
