In the second week of fashion month and with London Fashion week now over, an international tradeshow for menswear, Pitti Uomo ran by Pitti Immagine, is in its 91st edition. The four-day event running from January 10 – 13, is a bi-annual exhibition playing host to over 1000 exhibitors, pop up stores and events that showcase the launch of new collections purely focused on menswear.
With sartorial flair in full Florence force, the streets of Fortezza da Basso are a runway show of their own. Attendees dressing in their supreme best are the subjects of some of the impeccable and dapper street style looks at this time of year. Here is a look at the first class threads from this year’s Pitti Uomo 91.
A few debonair brands who showed included Lardini, Ermenegildo Zegna, Lanvin, Tombolini and also Tommy Hilfiger who was welcomed to this year’s exhibition for the first time. Paul Smith has chosen to launch his Autumn/Winter 2017 collection at Pitti this year with a special event; “I’m delighted to be launching my PS by Paul Smith collection at Pitti Uomo on January 2017. I first worked with Pitti in 1993 and was the first designer to have a catwalk show in the iconic Stazione Leopolda. Twenty years on I’m looking forward to showing in Florence again and hopefully bringing an element of surprise!”
